Hi,
On my El Capitan mac I have an icon for AVG LinkScanner on my dock, and I can't see any way to uninstall it. There's no icon in my Applications folder, and I've searched online but the links to AVG Remover are all dead. How do I uninstall AVG Linkscanner? Can someone provide an up-to-date removal link perhaps?
Thanks!

Tried the links you have given, and they seem to have expired / disappeared - There's no icon in my Applications folder, and I've searched online but the links to AVG Links Scanner Remover are all dead. AVG LinkScanner integrates with the Safari and Firefox Web browsers and warns you when you visit a website that could be a threat to your Mac computer's security. The program does not have a built-in uninstall wizard and requires you to have the original setup file in order to uninstall LinkScanner successfully. After removing LinkScanner, you will no longer see its options in your Mac's System Preferences pane or see its notifications in your Web browsers.

1.

Close any Web browsers that are currently opened. Double-click the original AVG LinkScanner for Mac setup file. If you don't have the setup file, you can download it from CNET's Download.com website.

2.

Double-click the 'Uninstall' icon that appears on the setup file's window. Click 'Open' on the security alert prompt to launch the uninstall wizard.

3.

Click 'Continue' on the first screen and then enter your Mac's administrator password. The wizard will then remove all of LinkScanner's files automatically. Click 'Finish' on the 'Uninstall Succeeded' screen.

Tip

  • If you forget to close a Web browser before you begin the uninstallation, AVG LinkScanner will prompt you to close the browser after you launch the wizard.
